On the Chinese Vocabulary Learning Strategies of Thai Students

Abstract

This study is based on the questionnaires and Chinese vocabulary tests given to the 107 Thai students learning Chinese at Lampang Rajiabhat University to investigate the vocabulary learning strategies of Thai students studying Chinese. The software SPSS14.0 has been used for analyzing the data. It is concluded that these students on the whole have a poor awareness of vocabulary learning strategies which differ greatly in sex and in age. Based on the status quo of Chinese teaching in Thailand and the students’ traits, the paper puts forward the training stages of Chinese vocabulary learning strategies.
