Abstract

Feminist epistemology reflects upon the concept of knowledge and theoretical systems and is critical of traditional epistemology from a gender perspective because of its male-dominated ideology. Since its introduction into China, feminist epistemology has aroused wide concern in various fields, including feminism, philosophy of science and epistemology. This essay provides a brief summary of the development of feminist epistemology in China from three aspects: the introduction of western feminist epistemology, current development of Chinese feminist epistemology and the future characteristics.
