Examination of microbial contamination of drinking water machine used in hospital

Objective:To assess the microbial contamination of drinking water machine used in a hospital.Methods:To investigate the contamination caused by microorganisms in the water flowed from the cold and hot water end in 26 drinking water machines used in a hospital.Results:The eligible rate of microbial contamination of water flowed from drinking water machine was 19 2% before cleaning,the eligible rate rised to 69 2% after cleaning(P0 005).The eligible rate of cold water was obviously lower than hot water(P0 005).The main contamination was caused by non-zymomonas.Conclusions:The main reason is unreasonable inner structure of drining water machine which caused the second contamination of water.We must enhance cleaning and disinfecting to using drinking water machine.It is better for people to drink hot water flowed from machine.
