Effect of penicillin powder and povidone iodine ointment in the treatment of diabetic foot

Abstract
Objective To discuss effect of penicillin powder and povidone iodine ointment in the treatment of diabetic foot. Methods A total of 89 patients of diabetic foot were divided into two groups randomly. Patients in control group(n=43) were given conventional treatment while the treatment group(n=46) were given penicillin powder and povidone iodine ointment. Then the effect were compared between them. Results The total effective rate in treatment group was95.65%. The two groups in clinical curative effect had significant difference(P0.05). And the epithelialization time and healing time were(4.17 ±1.06) d and(6.31 ±1.12) d, both of them were significant lower than control group(P0.05). The back ankle brachial index was also significant higher than control group(P 0.05). Conclusion Penicillin powder combined with povidone iodine ointment can improve the clinical curative effect, shorten the healing time, improve the quality of life exactly, it is worthy of clinic application.
