Abstract

The gonad development and individual fecundity of captured Synechogobius hastan from Haizhou Bay of Lianyungang were investigated. The results showed that the change of female gonadosomatic indices was almost the same as that of males and their maximal values both appeared in middle March. The spawning period was from middle February to early May.The absolute fecundity ranged from 16 151 to 70 693 eggs per fish with a mean of 38 971 eggs per fish. The absolute fecundity and relative fecundity both showed a positive correlation to age, body length, and weight,respectively(R2=0.987).This study provided the theoretical basis for Artificial breeding.
