Abstract
The relationship between agronomic characters and yield of 7 maize varieties were analyzed by gray correlated degree method to study effect of different yield characters on yield for drawing up the breeding target and corresponding cultivation technique. The results showed that the correlated degree between yield and plant height, ear height, ear length, ear diameter, barren tip length, rows per ear, grains per row and 1 000-grain weight was 0.595 93,0.571 86,0.809 2,0.623 93,0.667 3,0.661 57,0.796 67 and 0.615 08,respectively,and the correlation sequence was ear length grains per rowbarren tip lengthrows per earear diameter1000-grain weight plant heightear height. Therefore, the characters of ear length and grains per ear are main factors affecting maize yield in dry areas.
