Abstract
Grammatical metaphor,as one of the most important conceptions in functional grammar,brings a new perspective into the study of metaphor.Nominalizational metaphor,which thingifies verbs or adjectives,is a significant means of constructing grammatical metaphor.Seemingly,a deviation in grammatical form,nominalization embraces both the static semantic characteristics and the gradual variation of verbs.However,the essence of nominalization is a cross coupling of grammar and meaning in a dynamic selective process.
