Abstract

Objective To investigate knowledge-attitude-practice(KAP) related to virus hepatitis B among undergraduates, and to provide the scientific basis for making effective strategies and measures against hepatitis B.Methods The questionnaire survey of KAP about hepatitis B was conducted in Gansu Province.Totally 2 877 college students were enrolled by using a stratified cluster sampling method in 47 colleges or universities. Results The awareness rates about transmission way of hepatitis B were low(31.4%),and their awareness rates about other hepatitis B knowledge were relatively high(63.9%-85.1%).In the attitude of hepatitis,74.8% of the students thought hepatitis B was a serious illness. When they learned about their classmates were HBV carrier, only 18.4% of students believed that it would not affect the relation between the two,and only 29.3% of the students considered that they did not mind eating with them.Although 76.5% of the students surveyed had been immunized with HBV vaccines, but the full-course coverage rates was 27.3%.Conclusion The awareness of undergraduates about hepatitis B are incomplete.Undergraduates have serious discrimination against HBV carrier. The rates of whole range of HBV vaccine is low.
