Abstract

Objective To evaluate the relationship between the expression of ERCC1 and RRM1 and the efficacy of chemotherapy in advanced stage non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) patients treated by gemcitabine plus cisplatin chemotherapy(GP).Methods Liquichip assay was used to investigate the expression of ERCC1 and RRM1 mRNA in 148 patients treated by at least 4 cycles of GP regimen. Results The positive rates of ERCC1 and RRM1 expression in stage Ⅳ NSCLC were 47.3% and 35.1% respectively. There were no correlation with patient gender, age and smoking. The therapeutic effect of GP regimen in patients with ERCC1 and RRM1 low expression was obviously better than that with ERCC1 high expression(P0.05).overall survival of patients with ERCC1/RRM1 low expression were obviously longer than those with high expression(P=0.004).Conclusions The expression of ERCC1 and RRM1 mRNA in advanced stage NSCLC patients are closely related to the response to GP regimen and prognosis.
