Abstract
Objective To evaluate the characteristics of blood pressure variability (BPV) and relationship beween BPV and target organ in hypertensive patients. Methods 50 patients with stage Ⅰ, 44 patients with stage Ⅱ and 26 normal controls were undergone 24 hours ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. Results The parameters of BPV in patients with hypertension were significantly higher than those in normal controls. The increased BPV in daytime and decreased BPV at nighttime were all observed in three groups. Systolic BPV was higher than diastolic BPV. The parameters of BPV in stage Ⅱ were obviously higher than those in stageⅠ. Conclusion It’s suggested that the in- creased BPV is a important clinical features for hypertension. Which is relevant to the target organ damage.
