Abstract
The causes that lead to the errors in the research of the cultural character of Shen Congwen mainly lie in that the researchers misrecognize the regional breadth and the nationalities distribution in Xiangxi.Moreover,Shen Congwen's self-claimed nationality identity also confuses researchers sometimes.
