Abstract
The traffic flow might be always changing for many reasons, which may make the signal timing not match with the intersection whose traffic flow has changed. Thus it brings about congestion. Taking GuangHua-NanXun intersection for example, the traffic flow, delay and signal timing are investigated and traffic flow theory is utilized to analyze the practical flow. Meanwhile traffic simulation software VISSIM is used to find out the congested intersection and improve the timing level. The prefected timing is evaluated. The practice proves that traffic flow is distributed rationally and the traffic jam is solved.
