Abstract

The effects of peat on organic carbon, total nitrogen and soil microbial biomass were studied in greenhouse soil. The results showed that the contents of organic C,total nitrogen, soil microbial biomass C,N and CO2 release amount were increased with increasing of the single application of peat. The contents of organic C,total nitrogen, soil microbial biomass C,N and CO2 release amount were increased significantly by co-application of peat and N fertilizer. The soil microbial quotient(SMB-C/TOC) of 2N+2HA treatment was the highest, compared with control, and was 190 % higher than that of CK.
