MISDIAGNOSIS OF 33 CASES OF BRUCELLOSIS IN NON-EPIDEMIC AREA

Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical measures to reduce the misdiagnosis rate of brucellosis in non-epidemic area.Methods The clinical data of 33 cases of misdiagnosed brucellosis treated in Lanling County People's Hospital from January,2010 to December,2013 33 were analyzed retrospectively.Results8 cases were misdiagnosed as septicemia,8 cases as typhia,7 cases as orchitis,5 cases as rheumatic arthritis,2 cases as pneumonia,2cases as hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome and one cases as tuberculosis.Conclusion Brucellosis can be easily misdiagnosed and doctors should be open-minded and be skilled in recognizing similar symptoms of different diseases to reduce misdiagnosis rate.
