Abstract
Through the methods of literature review and logical analysis,the reasons why women are prohibited to participate in the ancient Olympics mentioned in recent studies are sorted and on the basis of analyzing and proving the reasonability of different explanations,this paper thinks: the reason from the myth or legend betrays ancient Greece social habits;the reason from the region is inconsistent with the Greek aesthetic value;the reason from the female position is discrepant from ancient Greek's attitude toward women.Then the conclusion is that women's individual traits and Greek homosexuality are the most important factors forbidding women to participate in ancient Olympics.
