Abstract

In polysemy teaching,translation and mechanical explanation are likely to deprive students of interest in language learning.With the development of cognitive linguistics,metaphorical extensions of lexicons have been found.Based on the application of metaphor in polysemy teaching,English learners will have an easy and profound understanding of polysemous words.
