Abstract
Five compounds were isolated and purified from the fresh fruits of Pranus cerasifera Ehrh f. by column chromatography on silica gel,ODS and Sephadex LH-20. Their structures were elucidated by IR,UV,1H NMR,13 C NMR,HMBC,HSQC spectral analyses. They were identified as 3-O-acetyl-protocatechuic acid( 1),2( R)-hydroxybutanedioic acid-1-methyl ester( 2),3,3',4,4'-Tetrahydroxybiphenyl( 3),β-daucosterol( 4) and Quercetin( 5). Compounds 1-4were isolated from this species for the first time and 1 was a new natural product. The1 H and13C NMR data of compound 1 were reported as well. All the isolated compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antioxidant activities using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryhydrazyl( DPPH) radical scavenging assays. Compounds 3 and 5 showed potential antioxidant activities.
