Abstract
Based on the three-class method for river networks,a 1-D unsteady numerical model for flow movement and sediment transport in the river network between Jingjiang River and Dongting Lake is established. The model is then calibrated and verified by the measured data of flow and sediment. The simulation results show that the model can reasonably calculate the flow discharge and sediment concentration of the river network. The proposed model could be used to simulate the flow and sediment transport in the downstream channel of the Three Gorges Project.
