Abstract

The equilibrium adsorption and adsorption kinetics of Cu2+and Zn2+ to Sediments of Lake Taihu were evaluated by isothermal adsorption experiment.Competitive Adsorption Behaviour and Competitive Adsorption Performance were analyzed. It was shown that the adsorption of the two ions to Sediments of Lake Taihu exhibited Langmuir adsorption behavior with regression coefficient of 0.99,But the pattern of heavy metal to soils was not for sediments. The adsorption kinetic curves of Cu2+and Zn2+ by sediments showed that the adsorption processes of two heavy metal ions followed a pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The results indicated that the sorption capacity of sediments to Cu2+ was higher than that of Zn2+.Furthermore,Cu2+ can replace Zn2+ of sediments Background Value.
