Abstract
Objective To know the iodine nutritional status of key population in Baofeng County.Methods Urinary iodine were determined by Acid Digestion Thermostatic Assay. Salt iodine were determined by quantitative analysis.Results The median of urinary iodine of pregnant women was 187.7 μg / L. The rates of urinary iodine value under 50 μg /L and 100 μg /L were 1.2% and 13.1%, respectively. There was significant difference between early-pregnancy and mid-pregnancy. The median of urinary iodine of lactating women was 147.8 μg /L with the rates of urinary iodine value under 50 μg /L and 100 μg /L of 1.8% and 15.9%, respectively. The median of urinary iodine of infants was 178.3 μg /L with the rates of urinary iodine value under 50μg /L and 100 μ g /L of 0.9% and 8.0%. 1 036 samples of edible salt were tested randomly on a household basis. The coverage of iodized salt was 100.0% with the median of salt iodine of 28.8mg/kg.Conclusions The level of iodine was appropriate for key population in Baofeng County.
