Abstract
The analytic calculation formula of the vector Fraunhofer diffraction of polarized plane wave throughout rectangular aperture is derived with Rayleigh-Sommerfeld vector diffraction formula,and then the essence and characteristics of the vector diffraction and the Fraunhofer diffraction situation of ten times size rectangular aperture and sub-wavelength rectangular aperture and wavelength size rectangular aperture are discussed. The simulations show that the calculation formula is valid and reliable and can play its due role in near field optics,micro-optics,diffraction imaging,light beam transmission and transformation,and optical information processing,and other aspects.
