Abstract

Objective To analyze the influence of single incision and double incision for phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy.Method 28 cases(31 eyes) of glaucoma with cataract were divided into A, B two groups. Group A(single incision group): 15 cases(17 eyes), sclera tunnel incision in phacoemulsification combined with IOL implantation and trabeculectomy; group B(double incision group): 13 cases(14 eyes), transparent corneal incision in phacoemulsification and IOL implantation, and the traditional trabeculectomy. Postoperative complications and visual acuity, intraocular pressure were compared and followed up for 3mo to 6mo. Results Follow up for 3- 6 months, visual acuity improved in two groups.Intraocular pressure: group A mean preoperative IOP was 33.21 mmHg and postoperative IOP 16.24 mmHg; group B: the mean preoperative IOP was 34.25mmHg and postoperative IOP 15.74 mmHg. There was significant difference between two groups' preoperative and postoperative IOP; the average IOP after operation had no significant difference between the two groups. No significant difference in postoperative complications, functional filtering bleb amount had no significant difference between the two groups was found. Conclusion Two kinds of operation methods of combined operations both have good effect on intraocular pressure, visual acuity and both are safe and effective.
