On the Gist of Poetry of Chu·The Nine Songs

The Nine Songs was Qu Yuan's important work. Wang Yi and others believed that it was a ballad for sacrifice- offering among the people then. It is found when analyzing the gist of the various poems of The Nine Songs that the sacrifices were not offered only to the gods in the State of Chu. The sources of gods were of diversity, which represented the close associative relations between the Chu culture and the culture of the Central Plains and the multidimensional features of the Chu culture.
