Abstract
Career counseling,as one of the most important contents in pedagogy and psychology,has been studied for a long time.After experiencing the great change from occupational guidance to career counseling,it comes to combine the development of personal occupation and the life time development,reflecting the new function of higher education .In this paper,the thought of career counseling is proposed and the challenges facing college education under the new situation are analysed objectively.The paper points to the importance of strengthening career counseling in higher education so to bring into full play the function of higher education in training high quality individuals who answer the demand of the future
