Abstract

【Objective】 To detect the expression of CD40 in allograft renal biopsies during rejection.【Method】Allograft receptor′s renal biopsies were taken on pre-transplantation(at the cold ischaemia) and postoperative periods: 7 days,1 month,6 months and 1 year after transplantation. The expression of CD40 was detected with immuohistochemical methods.【Results】198 samples of renal biopsies were obtained from 53 patients. No CD40 expression was deteced in preoperative renal, and CD40 expression was only occsionally found in some cases of protocol renal biopies with nomal renal function. The expression of CD40 in endothelial cells, epithelial cells and inflammation cells were 21%,39% and 60%,respectively.After anti-rejection therapy, the expression of CD40 was negative. The expression of CD40 in NO-AR groups was significantly lower than AR groups.【Conclusion】The expression of CD40 in grafts is correlated with clinical renal rejection.
