Abstract
Kant is a milestone in the history of modern west philosophy. His philosophical contribution is that at a time of modern history he made comprehensive creations in two great traditions-west traditional rationalism and empiricism, and came to establish a system of critical with far-reaching influence on west philosophy. His system is filled with speculative depth and expressive obscurity, accounting for the difficulty in understanding his philosophy. This paper, based on Kant's life experience, the background of the formation of his thought, the philosophers who had had important influence on him and his linguistic features, makes an introduction to and analysis of the background of his philosophy with a view to lessening the understanding difficulties.
