Abstract

Yuwen-Xuzhong acted as the Song's ambassador stayed in the Jin country with a diplomatic mission, and he suddenly surrendered himself to the Jin Dynasty after being faithful to the Song Dynasty for several years,so he and his family members were all put to death in the name of treachery. This event evoked the widespread interest of the literary masters in the Southern Song Dynasty with its complication. The event was differently recorded in the histories of the Song Dynasty and Jin Dynasty respectively. Our analysis found that the Song Dynasty's record included some obvious false parts.Although that made the event not faithfully recorded,it really reflected people's strong mind of expecting the perfect morals and maintaining the traditional morality in the Southern Song Dynasty.
