Abstract
This paper presents a new method of fairing and fitting based on partial interpolations, which can completely describe the distribution of the given data by piecewise fitting. An improved fairing method is also put forward.Once the fairing constraint equations are determined case by case, the fairing energy can reach the minimum level through adjusting the control points and choosing the suitable control parameters to get an ideal approximation of the given points.Numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the presented methods.
