Abstract
The paper is an attempt to clarify the issues raised in Liang Dongqing's article A Restudy of the Shi-Shi Sentences in Newly Unearthed Texts and furtherclaims that shi was already a copular verb in pre-Qin times and that the second shi was mostly also a copular verb,not an adverb,in unearthed Warring States texts.
