Abstract
n-Butyl acetate was synthesized from acetic acid and n-butanol using S_2O~(2-)_8/TiO_2superacid as the catalyst. The influences of reaction condition on the esterification rate were investigated. The results showed that the optimum condition for synthesis of n-butyl acetate using S_2O~(2-)_8/TiO_2 solid superacid was as follows: 0.2 mol acetic acid,n(acetic acid) ∶n(n-butanol)=1.0∶1.4;0.5 g catalyst;concentration of (NH_2)_2S_2O_8=0.75 mol·L~(-1);reaction at 115-117 ℃ for 1.5 h.Esterification rate of over 99% was attained. The catalyst can be repeatedly used with little corrosion to equipment.
