Abstract
Objective To review the progress in the clinical treatment of radial head fracture. Methods Related literature concerning the treatment of radial head fracture was extensively reviewed, comprehensive analysis was done. Results The treatment of radial head fracture includes non-surgical treatment and surgical treatment, which was primarily guided by the Mason classification system.Non-surgical methods should be selected in patients of Mason type 1 radial head fractures;Mason type 2 radial head fractures could be treated by open reduction and internal fixation, fixation devices include Kirshner wires, screws and plate, etc;Mason type 3 radial head fractures treated by radial head excision and Mason type 4 radial head fractures treated by radial head arthroplasty. Conclusion Radial head fractures are the most common type of elbow fractures.choosing different treatment strategies based on the Mason classification system can achieve the desired outcome.
