Abstract

Objective:To develop a method with ion chromatography to simultaneously determine seven anions in drinking water. Methods: The samples were filtered through a 0.2 μm millipore filter and injected directly. The seven anions in samples were separated by an Ionpac AS19 analytical column(4 mm×250 mm) with Ionpac AG19 guard column and 34.0 mmol/L KOH as eluent. The flow rate was 1.0 ml/min.Anions were detected by suppressed electric conductivity detector. Results: This method exhibited excellent correlation(r0.9993) and good analytic precision(RSD3.0%).The recovery rates were in the range of 95.0%~103.7%.The detection limit were F-: 0.0015 mg/L;Cl-: 0.0010 mg/L;NO-2-N: 0.0019 mg/L;SO2-4: 0.0012 mg/L;Br-: 0.0018 mg/L;NO-3: 0.0013 mg/L;HPO2-4: 0.0023 mg/L.Conclusion: This method was convenient, fast and accurate with wide linear range and it can be applied for inspection of large numbers of water samples.
