Abstract
TiAl-base intermetallic compounds have received considerable attention as high-temperature structural materials due to their low density and high specific strength. However, poor oxidation resistance of TiAl must be overcome before it can be used in practice at elevated temperature. In this paper, present state of oxidation and oxidation mechanism are discussed. The protection mechanism is focused oa Finally, the research and development direction is discussed.
