Abstract
The influences of austempering process on properties of Cr12MoW steel were studied. The results show that the martensite/bainite dual phase structure of the steel can be obtained by austenizing at 1020 ℃ and then austempering at 280 ℃ holding for 3 h.Compared with normal quenching, the austempering remarkably enhances the wear resistance of the steel with wear loss decreased by 56% while impact toughness is not reduced.
