Genetic polymorphism of transcription factor FoxP3 gene in Zhuang and Han populations in Guangxi province

Objective To study the frequencies of allele and genotype distribution of transcription factor FoxP3 gene promoter-3501 A/G polymorphism in Zhuang and Han populations in Guangxi province,and analyze the distributions of FoxP3 polymorphism between these races.Methods The FoxP3 gene-3501 A/G polymorphism was examined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) and DNA sequencing in 160 Zhuang and 150 Han populations.Frequencies of alleles and genotypes of FoxP3 gene were compared between Zhuang and Han populations and were also compared with other ethnic group through literatures.Results No significant difference in frequencies of alleles and genotypes distributions of FoxP3 gene was found between the Zhuangs and the Hans(P0.05).However,the FoxP3 polymorphism showed significantly difference comparing with European and African populations(P0.05).Conclusion There is FoxP3 gene polymorphism in Zhuang and Han populations in Guangxi province,but the frequencies of polymorphism distribution of FoxP3 gene are not significantly different between the Zhuang and Han populations.However,the distributions are significantly different compared with others ethnic populations.This variation of FoxP3 gene polymorphism among different ethnic groups might account for the heterogenicity of incidence and clinical presentation.
