Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effects of phacoemulsification combined with goniosynechialysis on angle-closure glaucoma and cataract.Methods From January,2009 to May,2011,72 eyes of 50 patients with angle-closure glaucoma and cataract in our hospital were selected.All the patients were given phacoemulsification associated with goniosynechialysis.The follow-up time was from 1 month to 6 months,averaged 3.5 months.The intraocular pressure and visual acuity at postoper- ative 1 day,1 week,1 month and 6 months were observed,and the central chamber thickness,filtering bleb and complications at the final follow-up time were also observed.Results The preoperative intraocular pressure was ( 25.6±2.8 ) mmHg ( 1 kPa = 7.5 mmHg) ,which at postoperative 1 day,1 week,1 month and 6 months were ( 19.6±1.4) mmHg,( 19.1±1.2) mmHg,( 17.8±0.9) mmHg and ( 16.4±0.8) mmHg,there were statistical differences compared with pre-operation ( all P 0.05) .The preoperative visual acuity was 0.13±0.07,which at postoperative 1 day,1 week, 1 month and 6 months were 0.27±0.06,0.28±0.12,0.36±0.18 and 0.48±0.18,there were statistical differences compared with pre-operation( all P 0.05) .The preoperative central chamber thickness was ( 2.01±0.10 ) mm,which at the final follow-up time was ( 3.25±0.25 ) mm,there was statistical difference compared with pre-operation( P 0.05 ) .The functional filtering blebs formed in 58 eyes,and unfunctional filtering blebs in 14 eyes.Conclusion Phacoemulsification combined with goniosynechialysis on angle-closure glaucoma and cataract can significantly control the intraocular pressure and deepen the central chamber thickness,which is helpful to visual acuity recovery with less complications.
