Abstract

The theory of set pair analysis is applied in the evaluation of groundwater quality in order to solve the fuzzy nonlinear relationship between evaluation factors and standards. To avoid people's subjectivity in the weights of various indexes in the evaluation process, the information entropy theory is employed,a set pair analysis model is established based on the entropy weight. The results of this model are compared with those of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. It is shown that the set pair analysis method based on the entropy weight is easy in understanding its principles and simple in its calculation and can make full use of the data so as to reduce errors and to reflect the comprehensive quality of water. It may provide a reasonable and effective evaluation method for the evaluation of groundwater quality.
