Abstract

The construction and development of the Constellation of Globle Positioning System(GPS) and its buildup are introduced. The basic principle and methods of GPS, US's changing policies on GPS, and its up to date advancement are sammarized. On the other hand, from the strategic ideas of digital earth and sustainable development of the world, a rising technology of precision agriculture is also introduced, including its basic technology, the developing status and trend at home and abroad, the important applications as well as its prospect on the modern agriculture.
