Research progress of pharmacological action of vitexin

Abstract
Vitexin is one of the effective components of many traditional Chinese medicine, which is a kind of flavonoids compounds. In recent years, the vitexin in medicinal research indicates that the it has pharmacological activities of anti-tumor, anti-oxidant, anti-virus, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, lowering blood pressure and anti-spasmodic. This review summarizes the research on pharmacological action of vitexin in recent years, in order to provide reference for its clinical application.
