Abstract

Study area is located at Kuala Krai Kelantan. This study area underlain by one geological formation which is Taku Schist. Aged Permian and consist of four lithology which is schist, sandstone and interbedded siltstone and shale, ignimbrite and alluvium. Petrography study show the result of mineral characteristic of ignimbrite and percentage of quartz, feldspar and lithic fragment amount in shale. The result of point counting for shale thin sectiona show the percentage of lithic fragment that high as 83.33% and 77.63% and classed in group of mudrock based on Pettijons sandstone classification diagram. High percentage of fragment ent shows that the outcrop of study area is well deposited shale.
