Abstract

In China, physical simulation experiments of the impact of bottom water oil reservoir heterogeneity on the law of horizontal wells water breakthrough are seldom conducted. A modern physical model of horizontal well exploitation of bottom water oil reservoir is developed to study the impact of the core horizontal heterogeneity on the dynamic distribution of water cut and recovery. The results show that the heel of horizontal wells is located in hypertonic place, the bigger the differential distribution of penetration rate, water cut increases more quickly. Horizontal well's heel is located at low permeability place in the larger penetration rate cores, the water cut increases to 100% more slowly and the higher recovery ratio at bottom water flooding. After bottom water flooding rock to water cut 100%, injecting gel blocking agent will lead to preferable water shutoff, significant decline of water cut and higher recovery. Experimental results supply a better physical simulation reference to studying the law of horizontal wells water breakthrough, forecasting the location of water coning, and evaluating water shut off process.
