Abstract
Nano-sized α-Al_2O_3 powder was prepared by a solid-state method using (NH_4)_2SO_4·Al_2(SO_4)_3·24H_2O as raw material and soluble starch as dispersant medium. XRD analysis showed that the powder was α-phase, and TEM measurement showed that the particles were about 30~40nm in size with a ball-like shape. The aggregation of the Al_2O_3 particles was inhibited due to the effective action of the dispersant.
