Abstract

Wood basic density and fiber morphological features in the breast-height position for512-year-old excellent clones of Populus tomentosa Carr.(1CK)were measured and analyzed in this paper. The results showed that the wood of5excellent clones whose ages were higher than4years old could be used as pulp and fiber raw material;and their wood properties were better than those of CK,so5excellent clones might be spread regionally.
