Abstract
A fast direction of arrival estimation method of wideband sources has been proposed.A new techniques is presented to compute the focusing matrix. It needs no direction pre-estimation or matrix eigendecomposition,so the focusing matrices are insensitive to the signals' direction and the computation is simple. Then,a set orthogonal bases of the covariance matrix in the krylov subspace is computed using the multistage weiner filter arithmetic.Under certain condition, the subspace spanned by the set of bases is equivalent to the signal subspace,so the spatial spectrum of wideband signals can be estimated. The whole estimation process avoids the rather expansive matrix eigendecomposition. The results of simulation support the effectiveness of the novel method.
