Considerations about the Rocky Desertification

In this paper,it defined the three aspects of the rocky desertification: rocky desertification phenomena,rocky desertification function,rocky desertification process;is discussed the quantization description of the rocky desertification,carried out the way of quantizing rocky desertification and classification project.It's suggested to divide the rocky desertification into 5 levels according to the D-value of the soil erosion intension and soil formation speed: non-rocky desertification,weak rocky desertification,strong rocky desertification,stronger rocky desertification,and intensive rocky desertification.it learned the relative results and discussed the difference of rocky desertification between north area and south area.The analyses shows: ①the rocky desertification in the north is more terrible than the south.More than 1/3 of the land is suffering from rocky desertification;more than 1/5 of the land is suffering from strong rocky desertification;the land which suffer from stronger rocky desertification,90,000km2 is water erosion;620,000km2 is wind erosion,the last one is much bigger.②geological effect of human activity: Artificial geological function is the main reason cause rocky desertification developed sharply.③stop the artificial geological function,the process of rocky desertification,recover the soil and vegetation by natural and human activity are effective way to prevent rocky desertification.
