INVESTIGATION OF THE IODINE NUTRITION OF THE TARGETED POPULATION IN TOWN AND RURAL AREA IN YANBIAN

[Objective]To investigate the iodine nutrition of targeted population in Yianbian.[Methods]Pregnant,breast feeding and childbearing women,infants and children were selected to detect the iodine content of urine.The iodine in salt,drinking water and goiter rate were detected in urban and rural area.[Results]In urban and rural areas,the mean salt iodine was 32.8 mg/kg and 33.1 mg/kg,and the mean water iodine was 3.5mg/L and 3.4mg/L.The urine iodine(median)of infants,school children,pregnant and breast feeding,childbearing women was 270.6,235.4,150.9,128.4,and 245.3mg/L in urban area,respectively,and 201.4,160.5,175.8,194.2,and 185.2g/L in rural area,respectively.[Conclusion] By using concentration of salt iodine 20-50 mg/kg,the iodine nutrition of emphatic crowds in Yanbian is suitable.We suggested to maintain the concentration of salt iodine.
