The investigation of anxiety and depression status of oncology patients' family member

Abstract

Objective:To explore the anxiety and depression status of oncologic patient's family member be-fore operation.Methods:50 oncologic patient s' family member were investigated by Zung's Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),and compared with 55 age-and culture-matched healthy person.Results: The people with different degree of anxiety and depression in the experi-ment group was more than the control group.The total depression score was found significantly difference and the the standard score of anxiety were of no statistical difference between two groups.Conclusion:Ade-quate psychological guidance should be given to patients' family member.
