Ji Xianlin's understanding and thinking of Hu Shi and his thoughts

Abstract

Because of Hu Shi's ultra- left thoughts,there were many errors in the criticism of his thought in the years after the foundation of the PRC. Ji Xianlin stood out to present a true Hu Shi and also for his defense. In Ji's opinion,Hu Shi was an outstanding scholar and thinker,and also a scholar keen on politics but not a politician in the strict sense. This essay scrutinizes Ji Xianlin 's understanding and thinking of Hu Shi and his thoughts,which is beneficial for the studies of Hu Shi in the future.
