Abstract
To comprehensively evaluate different types of forest ecosystem effects on soil conservation in mountain areas of Beijing, the soil erosion in this areas was simulated using InVEST(The Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs Tool) model with the data of Beijing Forest resources inventory, and emphasis was placed on impacts of different forest types. Results showed that the model was applicable to soil erosion simulation in mountain areas of Beijing, and the total of soil erosion was 1.76 million tons, the average soil conservation capacity was 220 t/hm2.All forest types of soil retention capacity were high in mountain areas of Beijing, and the highest soil retention capacity was 335 t/hm2 in natural mixed coniferous forest, the second one was 297 t/hm2 in nature arborvitae, while the smallest one is 148 t/hm2 in the artificial larch.
