Abstract
Analyzing the need of secondary equipment grounding,this paper concludes that for a good equipment grounding,the grounding resistance should be minimal,and some measures are also required such as to deploy a dedicated equipotential grounding network for reducing the potential difference between two grounding points of the equipment,and to connect the both ends of cable shield to the network for suppressing the electromagnetic interference and over-voltage invasion.For the actual case of Suidong Converter Station,certain suggestions to improve its grounding mode are given with an equipotential grounding network contact map of the whole station.
